Safeguarding
At Ysgol Caer Elen, we aim to look after the well-being and safety of each individual. Providing a safe and supportive environment is essential for everyone in order to enable each individual to realize their full potential.
The school has robust procedures for keeping our children safe. We work closely with parents/carers and external agencies and follow the All Wales Child Protection Guidelines for safeguarding. We have specific policies which can be found on the website under the Information, Policies section.
Every staff member is responsible for safeguarding and protecting our children. Within the school, there are specific staff who are responsible for matters relating to safeguarding. These staff have received additional training.
In complex or serious cases we will contact the Local Authority's Childcare Assessment Team for further advice and guidance. It will not always be appropriate to discuss issues with parents/carers before referring the child. Social Services and the Police are responsible for investigating charges.
